Convenience
I understand, from a good friend of mine, that the South Downs National Park (SDNP)have approached the authorities concerned with the possibility of converting the recently acquired village hall into a public toilet. This will not, in any way, alter the ownership of the property which would remain in the hands of the village trustees. The existing chapel building could then be rented out to a supplier of toiletries.(1 April)
Global Insecurity
I wonder if it would ever be possible to wean, world- wide, politicians from the horrors of war. It could bring about what the League of Nations and its successor UNO probably intended, a world of pacifists. I have no doubt that a vast majority of peoples around the world would welcome this however it was implemented. The saving of the cost of armaments, which would be enormous, could be mainly devoted to vastly improving the living standards of the poorer nations, reduce unwanted immigration and eventually create a richer world for everybody.
