Amazing Harvest Hamper raffle. We welcome all parishioners to this event. To order picnics (£6.50), phone Jane Warne on 07812-465-559 or email standrewsedburton@yahoo.co.uk.
Downland Villages Recipe Book
The four parishes, Edburton, Newtimber, Poynings and Pyecombe, are [still] working together to produce a recipe book to raise funds for the four churches. To do this we obviously need recipes. Nothing fancy – just the sort of things that you cook frequently and that your friends and family enjoy eating. If the recipe features local produce even better. Please help us by sending in a recipe and passing this message on to any of your friends in the villages that you know cook at least one fabulous dish. Recipes should be sent to me steph.newtimber@icloud.com or posted through the door of the vicarage in Poynings.
Harvest Supper
This year we are holding a candlelit Harvest Supper in the church at 7:00pm on Friday September 30th. Tickets (£8) are now on sale — phone 07549-013911 or 07812-465559 or email standrewsedburton@yahoo.co.uk.
Our Harvest Festival service is to be on October 16th and we will be providing our popular Harvest Picnic following the service. Tickets for this can also be reserved through the contacts above. Please join us.
The People of Beeding and Bramber in the Great War
Just published and available at £12 from local bookstores (including Steyning Bookshop, Henfield Museum, Steyning Museum and Beeding Newsagents). Diligent students of local government in Sussex will know that the Parish of Upper Beeding includes Edburton. This book thus covers all those listed on the Edburton & Fulking WWI memorial at St. Andrew’s and includes interesting biographical material on James Baker, Samuel Baker, William Baker, Charles Baldey, Arthur W. Brown, James E. Lucas, Elias Luff, Charles E. Sheppard and Richard Wearn.
