The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings won an ecclesiastical court case earlier this month to stop works, including installing under floor heating, being carried out at the Grade I listed Holy Trinity church in Poynings.
Violin & Viola Duets
Robbie Norman and Rachael Thomas will be returning to Newtimber Church at 3:30pm on Thursday 28th December for another concert. They will be playing violin and viola duets by Handel, Mozart and Bach. Please contact Steph or Lucy for tickets in advance. Tickets cost £10 each for adults and will include a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

Cold Weather Alert [WSCC]
A Cold Weather Alert at level 3 (action) has been issued for the South East area in advance for Thursday 07 Dec and 0800 on Tuesday 12 Dec 2017 as arctic air will be arriving later, from Thursday. It will be cold through the daytime and night-time with biting winds.
If you know or look after someone you may be susceptible to the effects of this cold weather period please help make sure that they stay warm and well and check in advance that they are prepared for this cold spell.
- Stay tuned in to weather forecasts
- Check and maintain daytime room temperatures of 21C
- Check bedroom night time temperatures and maintain it at 18C or warmer
- Keep warm and active and if you have to go out dress warmly and wear non slip shoes.
- If you are concerned about your own health or welfare or that of others please alert the emergency services.

Our Cook Book, in aid of the four parishes of Poynings, Edburton, Newtimber and Pyecombe has now been published. Containing recipes from parishioners and friends of the churches it is beautifully illustrated by Graham Jeffery, who many of you may remember illustrated ‘The Hungry Monk’ recipe book back in the seventies, and makes a perfect Christmas gift.
It is priced at £7.50 for a single copy, or £20 for three and is already sellng fast. It is available from BookNook and will also be on sale at the Fulking Christmas Party on 8th December.
