A reminder: the Toddlers/Family Coffee event at the Village Hall takes place every Wednesday morning from 10:00am–11:30am. It is a fun time with play & music & drinks! It is informally run by everyone! The cost, per session, is a donation to the Village Hall Fund of £1 per family.

Apple pressing at 11.30a on Sunday 2nd October in Poynings Village Hall. Have your own apples pressed at 50p per litre; bring containers or buy 1 litre bottles at 25p each; please wash your apples beforehand or wash them on site.

Ping! Pong!! Poynings!!! [Update]

We have managed to secure a reinforced concrete base for the outdoor table tennis table, one that complies with all the regulations, for £1400. We have £600 in the bank so there is just another £800 to go. Any last minute donations would be most welcome: drop an envelope in to either Sheila Marshall (Oak Cottage) or Colin Warburton (Hideaway Cottage).

Fungal Foray

Join mycologist Martin Allinson for a day of recording as many species of fungi as possible across Newtimber Hill on Friday 7th October from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Wear suitable clothing and bring lunch. Saddlescombe Farm Heritage Open Day

Tours of the 17th century Threshing Barn, Tudor Scullery and Donkey Wheel. You can also venture further afield for tours on surrounding Newtimber Hill. Refreshments at the Hiker’s Rest cafe. Children and dogs welcome. Parking £2 — follow signposts near Devil’s Dyke on the day. Sunday 11th September 2016, 10:30am–3:30pm, free admission.
Beauty and The Beast

We are on the hunt for budding actors and actresses for this years’ Poynings Panto. We are holding a meeting at The Royal Oak on Thursday 8th September at 8:00pm so if you are interested taking part or helping out please come along. We are also inviting children and teenagers to join the dance troupe. If you were born between September 2012 and the end of August 2013, congratulations on being able to read this! West Sussex County Council would like you to alert your parents of the application process for children due to start school in September 2017 which begins on Monday 3 October 2016. WSCC no longer sends individual letters to parents and has asking local organsations to spread the word.
