South Downs Local Plan Road Show

South Downs Local Plan

Wednesday 16th September 15:00–20:00 in Arundel Town Hall

Chris Paterson of the SDNPA writes:

[We] have sent out packs of posters and leaflets to all parish councils, but some of these packages do not appear to have arrived .. and therefore the publicity material has not gone out in the parish. I have had some parish councils confirm receipt of this material (Posters and Postcards) but not all.

If you would like to download a PDF of the full plan from the SDNPA website in advance of the roadshow, well, good luck. They will sell you a paper copy though — but you have to phone or email the SDNPA first in order to find out what it costs.

False colour wine glassesCall My Bluff Wine Quiz

Call my Bluff started in Fulking when the Henfield branch of the wine merchant, Wine Rack, agreed to put on a Call my Bluff wine quiz in the Village Hall in 1999. Since then I have presided over many evenings of the same format.
By my reckoning, together with straight wine quizzes, we have raised £5,609 over the years for village funds. The evening has been very ably supported by Toby Peirce of Quaff Ltd who has supplied most of the wines and, in more recent times, by Louise and Jay who have handled the food and raffle so well.
Sadly, old age is catching up with me and I am losing my mind, hearing, mobility and patience (grumpy old man!), which means that the exuberant enjoyment of revellers at the wine quizzes has become problematic.
It would be good to hear from a villager willing to take on the responsibility of continuing to organize this valuable fund raiser. Needless to say it will be a pleasure to pass on any information or assistance that I can.

Poynings Fun-free Day

No fun to be had in Poynings
Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August, no music, no beer tent, no stalls, do not bring your own picnic.

Morning: there won’t be any races, neither Juniors nor a Fun Run for adults. A lap of the Blacksmith’s field is just over half a mile, but only in good weather.

Afternoon: no party, no tug of war, no traditional children’s races, no raffle, no charity barbeque.
