Public Houses reopen tomorrow

Boris and Natasha at the Shepherd and Dog
With respect to The Shepherd and Dog, The Argus reports:

The Bar Manager, Josh Harris, explained: “I’m not able to open with the same beer line-up that I’ve had before. I’ve got 18 lines for craft beer and it’s now become quite tricky to offer the same thing.” Following COVID-19 procedures, The Shepherd and Dog has implemented social distancing measures and all customers must pre-book with a maximum group size of six. Mr. Harris said: “One of the key things in the 43-page government dossier was the need for us to take and store the booking details of all of our customers which I think will come as quite a surprise. We are doing everything we can to make this pub safe and welcoming and utilise our great outdoor space to make it even better.”

Weekend opening hours are: Saturday 12-8pm and Sunday 12-8pm.

Police pursue a motorcyclist to the Shepherd and Dog

Suzuki Pro Circuit
Police chased a motorcyclist from the M23 to the Shepherd and Dog yesterday. Our man in the pub car park reports that five police cars and a helicopter were used in the pursuit. One constable went into the pub to check their CCTV images. She described the incident as “just someone being silly”. The Argus now tells us that “a 25-year-old man from Worthing has been reported for dangerous driving, speeding and failing to stop. His bike was also seized.”

Carol Singing

Carol singing, this Friday at 5:00pm
We will be carol singing around Fulking on Friday 20th for The Clocktower Sanctuary again. We start at 5:00pm from my house, 37 Clappers Lane, and will finish at the Shepherd & Dog pub. Mulled wine will be available at the start and then again at the pub. Do come and join us if you can. Bring torches! [If it is pouring with rain we will sing on Monday 23rd at the same time.]
