Christmas Party report

Fulking Village Christmas Party
The annual village Christmas party was held in the greatly improved village hall on Friday 20 December. The evening was very well attended and many thanks to the principal organisers Jennie Wild and Carolyn Loveless, as well as all the other villagers who assisted. The mulled wine was excellent. A very successful tombola, which was enhanced by a magnificent hamper, donated by Jeremy’s the greengrocer in Henfield, raised £233 which well covered the existing shortfall in the amount required for the new fencing in the North Town Field.

Steve Morley tabla workshop in Fulking
Steve Morley
Steve Morley invites all those interested in learning classical tabla drumming or being part of a regular percussion and music-making group for Fulking and Poynings, to come along for an informal get-together in Fulking Village Hall at 2:30pm on Sunday 15th September. You’ll be able to try some basic tabla, World percussion instruments and effects. No experience whatsoever is required.

Steve first studied tabla with Pt. Chotelal Misra in Varanasi, India in the 1980s, and was also under the tutelage of the late Pt. Sharda Sahai of the Benares tradition. He has been teaching classical tabla and working in education for 20 years.

Fulking Village Hall Gets a Grand!

BT_people_awardsFulking Village hall has been awarded £1000 by the BT Awards scheme thanks to Ceri Thayer a member of the Village Hall Action Group.

BT People Awards reward local community groups, charities and organisations where BT people volunteer their time. Our Village Hall is one of hundreds of groups who applied for an award during this round of the scheme and impressed judges with how they would use their grant to make a difference to their group and benefit the local community. The BT People Awards provide a great opportunity for community groups like ours to get some additional help that can make a huge difference.

It is very positive that BT recognises the voluntary work of its people in this way. The Village Hall is going from strength to strength with community events and the VHAG are very grateful for this donation.
