Fulking Village Hall has served as the heart of our small community since 2012 when it was saved from imminent closure and sale of the land by a group of villagers. The hall now functions as a focus for community events.

Since 2012 hall use has grown steadily. Events such as yoga, mothers and toddlers’ group, games evenings and crafts afternoons take place weekly or twice-monthly. The hall is also used for Parish Council and Church meetings, annual events such as Fulking Xmas Party, Seedling Sunday, Xmas bazaar, Call My Bluff wine evenings etc and for private parties, bands and dances. It has recently been reinstated as a polling station. Don’t forget you can arrange your own event and/or use the hall for the knock-down price of just £1 per villager per session or £10/hr for non Fulking/Edburton residents.

All this is thanks to your support! Kind donations and standing orders from villagers keep the hall running and allow us to pay running costs of approx. £200 a month. Since 2012 the hall has been maintained by a working party. Now however, essential maintenance work is needed on the roof, which is beyond the scope of the working party. The pitched roof will be repinned, repainted and made watertight. Flat roofs will be also be repaired and waterproofed. This professional work is needed to ensure that the roof is secure, fully waterproof and in good repair for the future. It will cost £6,600, which we cannot meet from our running costs. The Social Committee have now promised £3,500, so there is £3,100 still to find.

We are therefore asking villagers to help us meet the costs of this one-off repair by giving a donation. Fulking Social Committee may help us to meet part of this sum, but we will need donations to meet the full cost.
