Lady Brook Spring – Springtime Planting

The design for Lady Brook Spring, Fulking

Darren Rolfe, the WSCC Community Solutions Officer, is coming back to Fulking on the 26th January 2015 to undertake some tidying and clearing of the site to get it ready for planting in the springtime. If you can help on the day, volunteers are extremely welcome. Also if anybody has any ideas on planting, please can they let me know.

At the PC meeting last week it was agreed to have logs/tree trunks in front of the spring to provide a barrier and stop vehicles cutting in towards the spring this could also be used a seating. It was felt that planting should only be behind the spring to enable access to three sides.

Footpaths needing attention

B73BY
WSCC have changed the way that the Public Rights of Way are managed and maintained. They will now be inspected once every fifteen months as opposed to once every nine months. At the same time, WSCC are looking at the summer clearance programme for footpaths. This programme clears surface vegetation on approximately 10% of the network.

If you know of any footpaths/rights of way that need attention please can you inform me before the 8th January 2015 or in person at the PC meeting on that day. The PC will then advise WSCC.

“Mayfield Market Towns’ proposals faced a wall of opposition yesterday from every tier of local government. Defending its Housing Plan, Horsham District Council was flanked by two MPs, Sir Nicholas Soames and Nick Herbert, and representatives from Mid Sussex District Council, West Sussex County Council, nine Parish Councils, the CPRE and LAMBS.” [Much more here and here.
