The Lady Brook Spring project looks as though it may go ahead at the end of May / beginning of June. Senior Community Solutions officer Darren Rolfe is looking for volunteers to help with the fencing at that time prior to work starting on the spring proper on Saturday 7th June (dates are provisional).

The Shoreham Herald reports:
Just three schools in the whole of Shoreham, Southwick, Steyning and Upper Beeding are currently covered by a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO). Despite the majority of schools using School Keep Clear (SKC) markings near entrance gates, the rest have no TRO, meaning the police cannot take any action if people park on them. West Sussex county councillor Robin Rogers has led a lengthy campaign since he found out in 2009 that all but 10% of SKC were totally unenforceable.
A TRO does currently apply to Upper Beeding Primary.
The West Sussex Gazette reports:
Roadworks begin on the A283 to create a new right-turn for a new housing development in Sullington. The junction improvements are expected to last for 20 weeks, finishing around August 3. The works are in Storrington Road, between Water Lane and Hampers Lane. Two-way signals will be in operation 24-hours a day, with manual control to manage traffic flows at peak times.
The Shoreham Herald reports that WSCC Rights of Way Committee has now agreed to the new bridleway that will allow users of the Downs Link to avoid having to cross the A283:
It will run close to the River Adur, passing under the A283 road bridge, through a field, across a ditch and through a wooded highway verge to rejoin the Downs Link at its existing crossing point. It adds 970m to the length of the route.

Please be advised that there is now a new website to help promote the benefits of better, faster broadband and therefore giving people information about what is happening and where.
A key feature is the interactive map which details activity by exchange area. As the network is being developed, we will update the map to show where work is being carried out and when new broadband services will become available. Initially the information that we can share on the map will be minimal but once we announce the roll out (before Easter) then it should become a useful visual tool for people to see progress in their area.
The website also has a short animation explaining the technology we will use as well as information about the benefits of better, faster broadband. Users can check the availability of broadband to their home or business and get in touch with suppliers to contract to buy services, in the usual way.

The West Sussex County Times reports that the bridge is to reopen tonight, three days ahead of schedule.
The West Sussex County Times (print edition, February 13th) is reporting that West Sussex County Council has finally agreed to remove all of the speed bumps that have been causing damage to three of Bramber’s oldest houses: Yew Tree Cottage, The Gables and St. Mary’s House (shown above). The campaign by residents against the bumps has lasted for over twenty years.

A new bridleway designed to make the Downs Link at Bramber safer is receiving wide support. West Sussex County Council is consulting on plans to create a new route, parallel to and under the A283, to avoid crossing the busy main road. Jon Perks, principal rights of way officer, has written to residents and landowners for comments on the £77,000 scheme, which should be returned by February 20. .. The new route would pass under the bridge that carries the A283 over the River Adur, 500m south-east of the existing crossing point. It would add about 970m to the route but it is thought the safety benefits outweigh the extra distance to travel, plus, the existing crossing point will remain open for ‘confident’ cyclists and others who wish to take a more direct route. Part of the land is owned by the Crown Estate, which has said it will not raise objection. The track on the south side of the A283 is shared by the county council and a private landowner and both are willing to dedicate it as a bridleway.
