The Deputy Prime Minister announced today that he had approved the new South Downs National Park. It would form the park to his new residence. All existing housing in the Park would be compulsorily purchased to provide accommodation for his staff. Rights of way, bridleways and public footpaths in the area are all to be terminated in the interests of security.
