The Steyning Downland Scheme is hosting its annual picnic on Sunday 7th September from 12:30pm–3:30pm at the Old Rifle Range off Mouse Lane, Steyning, parking at the Cuthman Centre. Attractions will include tractor rides, games, face-painting, bushcraft, walks and free bacon butties. Free event, no need to book, just show up with a picnic, a rug and (possibly) an umbrella.

Yellow Ribbon Ball
The 2014 LAMBS Fundraising Ball is to be held in the Beethoven Suite at Hickstead on Saturday 11th October from 6:30pm to 1:00am. The three course dinner starts at 7:45pm. There will be a live band and music to dance to. Tables can be bought for 8-12 people. Use this form [PDF] to book tickets. The same form can be used to order programme advertising.
Beeding Flower Show
Beeding and Bramber Horticultural Society are having their summer show in the Village Hall, Upper Beeding, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, tomorrow, Saturday August 23rd.

the Blacksmith’s Field; - 02:00pm Presentation of fun run awards at the Village Hall;
- 02:30pm Tug-of-war, north versus south;
- 03:00pm Children’s traditional races (egg & spoon, etc.);
- 04:30pm Calling of raffle.

Autumn Nature Tots
Small Dole Horticultural Society Summer Show
The show will be held on Saturday August 16th 2014 in the Mackley Sports Field. The show is open from 1.30pm, entry to the marquee commences at 2pm and the show will close at 5pm. There will be stalls from local charities and societies, childrens’ amusements, music from the Patcham Silver Band and refreshments. The marquee will hold displays of oddly shaped vegetables, local produce, handicrafts, photography and cooking that will be judged as part of the show’s events.
