Wealden Building Study Group
The Wealden Building Study Group might be interested in visiting your old house or barn. You could learn a lot about the history and construction of the building. They have a waiting list, and are currently formulating their April to October 2018 visits programme. Click the image to download their flyer.
Free Pallets
Pallet wood available for burning – both broken up and bagged. Bags are located at the side of the small garage in the right hand side of the forecourt of Aviation House, Poynings. Access outside office hours is via a small pedestrian gate on the left. Whole pallets available also, please enquire in the office. Help yourselves but proceed with caution as there are large nails in the pallets.
Hymns & Pimms
You are invited to join us in singing some favourite hymns in our lovely Downland Church accompanied by a complimentary glass of Pimms. Note that this will be the last time we will see Caroline at St. Andrew’s as Rector. If anyone would like to suggest a hymn to be sung, please let me know by August 19th.
Saddlescombe Farm nominated for CPRE award
Saddlescombe Farm is run by tenant farmers, Camilla and Rory Puzey who open their doors to the public for lambing weekends and educational visits throughout the year. They also offer a unique Shepherd for the Day experience and Green Gym sessions which encourage people to get fit by doing conservation work. The couple say the shepherding idea came from a friend. The idea quickly developed and now the farm holds a variety of shepherding experiences for individuals, couples and families — there are even corporate team building events which conclude with a Shepherding Challenge.
