Dripping tap entails nine week road closure
The dog-leg that connects Poynings to the Saddlescombe Road is to be closed from Wednesday 11th January until .. Tuesday 17th March 2017 — according to the obvious nonsense circulated by Matt Davey, Director of Highways and Transport at WSCC.
Update 14th January: as of 5:00pm this afternoon, the road was open. That does not mean it will be open on Monday morning, though. Proceed cautiously.
Update 16th January: the road remains open, all contractor detritus removed.

A chance to visit Barns Green
Nowadays, bad news from local government comes in the form of a ‘survey’. Fulking users of the Compass Travel 100 service from Burgess Hill to Horsham via Pulborough will be delighted to learn that “a few journeys” on that service will soon be diverted via Barns Green. Click the map above for the rationale and to help WSCC “understand the potential impact of the proposed changes”.
Cones on the line
South East Water will be attempting to set up cones along this section of The Street outside Kent Cottage and the Chimney House in the early evening of Thursday 3rd November. This will allow them to dig up the road on Friday 4th November and replace a failed external stopcock. Last time they attempted this work, a couple of weeks ago, someone moved their cones and the contractors were not able to proceed.

West Sussex County Council would like you to alert your parents of the application process for children due to start school in September 2017 which begins on Monday 3 October 2016. WSCC no longer sends individual letters to parents and has asking local organsations to spread the word.
